Major Middle Eastern Oil Company

McKenzie Forbes Group were engaged by the Bahrain Petroleum Co. (BSC) Limited from July to August 2009, to provide support for a major realignment of BAPCO Procurement Strategy.  During the period of consultancy work, they had extensive discussions with Senior staff from the Procurement functions of Materials and Contract services, with combined spend of over $300 Million per annum.

Their primary objective was to identify a single organization structure and develop single consistent processes for use by the combined departments.  This was achieved to a very high standard with presentation accepted by Management in August 2009, together with a practical roadmap for implementation.

As a result of their investigations McKenzie Forbes also highlighted opportunities to standardise and streamline processes and procedures to achieve additional benefits at both company and group level.  As a result of this work McKenzie Forbes were invited to present to the National Oil & Gas Council of Bahrain (NOGA) to advise on rationalization and standardization across member companies.

We found the standards of the McKenzie Forbes Group to be very good, centered on their practical experience in developing working solutions – and including a sound knowledge of vendor and market development.

Actual Example -

Using our PPS we looked at a group of commodities for a manufacturing company with Geographically spread sites.

We were able to achieve savings of over 50% pa and reduced the supplier base from    76 to 54.

We put in place a 3 year contract according to their prefered terms and conditions.

MFG now offer the PPS under licence into organisations.
